What’s Going On?

November 20, 2018

Well, that was quite a crazy summer and year, really! We both moved in the spring, both graduated high school, both volunteered all summer at Arrowhead Native Bible Center, and both started full time jobs this fall. So, needless to say, we haven't been consistent in writing blog posts!

Now that we're starting to get our feet back under us, we plan to be more consistent in writing.
We will be taking turns posting every other week. Which works out for each of us to write one post per month. We feel it is a more manageable goal at this stage of our lives.

Please pray for us as we seek to glorify God through our writing. Pray that the Holy Spirit would move through this blog to save the lost and edify His people.

Thanks for your patience and commitment to read and encourage us in our mission to be eternally minded!

June 2018

Summer's coming! Due to our busy schedules, we will be posting every other week instead of every week. We hope you will continue to join us and share in the wonder of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

January 2018

We’re back from our impromptu Christmas writing break! We had a great Christmas and New Year and are praying that God will bring along many new and important writing subjects this year.

It is of utmost importance to us that we post what God has laid on our hearts to share with you: the lessons we are learning and thoughts we are picking out of our devotions. Keep in mind that just because we are writing about something doesn't mean we are experts on the subject or are fully accomplished in that area of our lives (i.e. if we were to write about prayer, there is not a chance we [or God] are/is satisfied with our prayer lives. It is something we are learning and have felt honored to share with you.)

We would like to share some of our ideas for 2018!

#1: Guest Posts!
Brooke and I are in the process of contacting various pastors, leaders, and wise councilors to share specific thoughts with our Eternally Minded readers! We’d like to feature articles on:
     • Prayer
     • Gossip
     • Being lights in a dark world
... And more that have yet to be inspired!

We would love some suggestions from you, our audience!

#2: Greater Quality Content!
Brooke and I feel that we aren’t doing all we can to ensure quality posts. Sometimes we forget or procrastinate, then BOOM: it’s Saturday and the post is yet to be written. We’re going to make harder efforts to write posts in advance, take time to edit them, so you are receiving our very best content.

#3: Video/Audio Posts!
Sometimes, we are known to write an epistle instead of a blog post. We are toying with the idea of recording ourselves talking about a topic so that you don't have to take a chunk of time out of your day to read it, but can watch a five minute video or recording while you're working on something else! (We think like multitaskers, can ya tell? ;) )

#4: We are introducing a new author!
A good friend of ours and sister in the faith has taken an interest in writing with us. We're so excited to welcome her posts every 5 weeks, as long as God gives her the ability and desire to continue.

It is of utmost importance to us that we post what God has laid on our hearts to share with you, the lessons we are learning and thoughts we are picking out of our devotions. Just because we are writing about something doesn't mean we are experts on it or have fully accomplished it in our lives. We are humans, children of God, and as such, are simply clay in the hands of the Great Potter. We are praising Him for molding us into images of His likeness, and are praying He would do the same for you.

**We will try to keep you updated as well as we can! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get a hold of us through our Google accounts, and we will do our best to fix the problem and satisfy you, our reader.**

Ezekiel's prediction and Christ's fulfillment

Ezekiel Chapter 4-5 There are four object lessons in this passage that display the type of judgement that was coming for Israel and Judah.  First (Ezekiel 4:1-3): Ezekiel was commanded to draw the map of Jerusalem on a clay brick and demonstrate how the city would be attacked and destroyed.  Second (Ezekiel 4:4-8): Ezekiel was commanded to lie on his left side for 390 days, symbolic of the 390 years Israel disobeyed God, and 40 days on his right side, symbolic of the 40 years Judah lived in rebellion against God; and do this while starring at the model of the siege of Jerusalem and prophesying against it. Third (Ezekiel 4:9-17): He was to prepare bread to ration out while he lied on his side and cook it over manure. This symbolized how God would make them eat defiled bread in the land of the gentiles where he would scatter them and where they would starve.  Fourth (Ezekiel 5:1-4): Ezekiel was commanded to shave his hair and divide it into three equal parts. 1/3 was...

Betrothed to Christ

I was reading in Exodus and was reminded of the beautiful picture of Christ and His bride. In Exodus 21:7-11, you find a peculiar law about maidservants: 1) She does not bide by the same laws as the menservants, which can leave their master after six years. 2) If her master who has betrothed her to himself is not pleased  with her, he cannot sell her to the gentiles, but must let her be redeemed; because he has dealt unfaithfully and deceitfully with her. 3) If her master has betrothed her to his son, he must treat her like his daughter. 4) His son must provide for her food, clothes, and duty of marriage and cannot diminish them if he takes another wife. If he does, the maidservant can leave for free. Weird? Kind 'a, but it makes sense. Then God popped a thought into my head about Hosea. Hosea was a prophet who was told by God to marry a harlot to illustrate God's love for Israel. Now at one point Gomer, Hosea's wife, left him for another man and ended up getti...

Judges 17 - Partial Obedience Doesn't Exist

I was doing my morning reading through the book of Judges and was shocked at how twisted this man named Micah was. The chapter starts off with him stealing from his mother, then returning the money, then she makes him an idol out of the returned money, and he makes his son the priest of his idols. Later, a Levite comes by and he hires him to be the priest instead of his son and says: "Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest." Judges 17:13 How can this guys definition of right and wrong be so thwarted? How can he think God is pleased with his actions? Sure he hired God's ordained ministers to be his priest (Lev7:35), but he was worshiping a idol! He wasn't even worshiping the one true God! So he wasn't obeying the Levite Priest law, because he broke a much more serious law: "Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is...
