Eternally Minded

In the last few months at my church ( Cornerstone Church ) my pastor, Chris Sippley, has been going though the Gospel of Mark. There are things I'm seeing for the very first time about the reason for the book of Mark, his teachings about Christ, and Christ's teachings about Himself. Not only what Jesus said matters, but also what He did: what He valued and what He prioritized.  I'd like to share with you - as a sort of informal post - my notes taken from the sermon on Mark 5:1-20, spoken on July 29, 2018. Proverbs 10:29: The way of the L ORD is a strong hold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers. It struck me when I was reading this verse in my devotions, that, indeed, this verse is so true. As Christians, the Christ who saved us is the same Christ who will punish the wicked and doom them to an eternity in Hell. But why? The truth is, God is holy [perfect/separate: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory! The most impacting thing you will ever hear is the truth of the Gospel, so for the next little while we'll be delving deeper into the Gospel, God's redemptive plan, and His way of salvation. God is Spirit “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) God does not have a body. He is invisible. You may point to different  passages in the Holy Bible that talk about God having hands and eyes - so God must have a body [ 2 Chronicles 29:6, Ecclesiastes 9:1 ].
